This project will improve the Ginigoada Foundation’s institutional capacity in financial management, proposal preparation and gender-based analysis. The Ginigoada Foundation is a non-governmental organization based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG) and the main beneficiary of the project. It provides vocational skills training and life coaching for disadvantaged youth and young adults in order to increase their access to employment in sectors including but not limited to tourism and hospitality, construction, and business management.
The project will focus on providing training to senior management and other relevant team members in financial management and reporting, proposal preparation and gender-based analysis. The expected results of the project are:
- Increased capacity by the finance team to track, reconcile and report on its monthly expenditures and provide financial statements applying accepted accounting practices.
- Stronger proposal preparation/grant application skills and techniques that will increase their ability to attract additional funding.
- Improved understanding of the principles and purposes behind gender-based analysis and how to implement it within their organization.
Problem being addressed by CTIF
Ginigoada contributes to improving the enabling environment for increased trade and investment in PNG by deepening the pool of employable and skilled labour available to local businesses. CTIF will ensure the organisation’s future sustainability by strengthening donor confidence in its ability to deploy financial resources effectively and transparently while ensuring appropriate attention is paid to gender equality considerations through its day to day operations.
By strengthening the capacity of the Ginigoada Foundation, the project will enable the Foundation to continue providing vocational skills training and coaching to young people thereby contributing to reduce poverty and increase youth employment outcomes in PNG.
